Disney Addiction

Disney has completely hypnotised Logan with being infatuated with Lightening McQueen and Buzz Lightyear. They have marketed so well that Logan can't get enough. It isn't even that we watch the movies, it's the books on tape that we listen to in the car, it's all the little play toys, it's the fun rides at Disney. We are definitely stalkers of the two. Too make matters worse, now that Christmas is here, I could buy him every imaginable item from toothbrushes to buzz cars.....Disney definitely knows how to market to little kids (and their moms)!!!

5K

Last weekend Jake and I ran a 5K for the YMCA that we go to. Not a whole lot of runners, but Jake and I had a great time. Jake ran it in 25 minutes and I did 28. We both did better than the last time we ran. Jake took 2nd and I took 3rd in our age group, which means Jake took 3rd and I took 7th overall. (I like the first stats better) We are just glad we finished!

A little cold, but lots of fun!

Raegan on the jumping trampoline at a little family fun fair we found.

Logan hugging Winnie the Pooh, he stayed in that position for about 1 minute, no lie. I don't know if he was too scared to move or just really comfy!

The wild bunch!

We're Incredible

Halloween has been a lot of fun the past few years. Our family chooses a theme and then we all dress up. This year we were 'The Incredibles' since our family fits the profile well. (All the same ages of kids) I was in charge of the ward Halloween party and we had a dance plus the annual Trunk or Treat (Ward members decorate their car trunks and kids get their treats). Jake's parents and Grandma were in town and they dressed up right along with the theme. It was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed the party.

T-Shirts

We made our own Halloween T-shirts. It was in a magazine I saw. It was my first attempt at tie dye. Let's just say I have some work to do when it comes to being a hippy. Our shirts looked similar to the ones in the magazine. The kids enjoyed making the pumpkin faces on them. I even made one for myself that has a giant jack-0-latern on it. Talk about scary pumpkin! We wore them to a Catholic fall festival. Those guys really know how to throw a party. Fun rides and great food. Very similar to the fair back in Utah minus the rodeo. Great way to get into the fall mood.
Brielle fell asleep in the car and I didn't want to wake her so I left her in her car seat and put her in her room. When I went in later to check on her, this was her pose! Isn't she the cutest thing you have ever seen!!!!

Wizard of Oz

A few days ago Raegan and I went to the broadway show of Wizard of Oz. It was wonderful. Raegan loved the ruby slippers and the house falling on the witch. It was a very enjoyable night. We went decked out in our finest 'ruby slippers.'

School Party

Today Raegan had a Halloween party at school. I got to volunteer and Logan was able to come with us. They did crafts (which lasted about 20 minutes for Logan and then Jake had to come get him because all he wanted to do was eat the cookies they were decorating). They had made Halloween costumes previously so they put them on and they went trick or treating in them. Raegan was a dalmation and was very cute! She had a great time and we are already getting 'sugared' up for the real Halloween.

Hiding spot

This is Raegan and Logan's favorite hiding spot. They love playing under there. Who knows why????

Disney

We spent the past weekend at Disney. It was fun, even though it rained often and I was soakin' wet trying to make sure the kids stayed dry. Got to love that Florida weather! We went to Epcot to the food and wine festival (lots of different foods from different countries to try). We rode the rides there and just enjoyed a nice night. The kids loved the nemo ride the best.
The next day we went to Animal Kindgom and saw lots of animals close up. Raegan went on the "Dinasour" ride and kept her eyes shut the whole time. It is quite a scary ride. There is one part where a huge T-Rex is right next to you roaring. I even closed my eyes and held on tighter to Raegan. It was fun though. We are grateful that we get to experience Disney often......

My first bike ride

I just had to try these on her.

We have patiently been waiting for Brielle to sit up so that we could start our family bike rides again. We decided to try today. She loved every minute of it. We had to keep a hat on so her bald head wouldn't get sunburned. It is just started to get into the 80's so we can go outside again. Yeahhhh....80's in Florida, 30's in Utah.

Wonderful Hubby

This will be a cheesy post, but I just have to say I have the best hubby! I have been complaining all week about the A/C in the car not working right. It shuts off, doesn't work or just blows a little bit. Living in Florida, you need good A/C. I have been complaining on behalf of the kids (even though it bothers me more) because Logan and Brielle are soaking wet with sweat everytime I get them out of the car. Raegan sits in the middle so she gets a gentle breeze. Anyways, today he had the day off. Instead of being lazy and just relaxing (which I wish he would do sometime today) he went to one of his favorite places, the junkyard, and found a Land Rover there and bought a new switch for $20!!!! (He was going to buy a new one online for $200!!!) He made out like a banchee and now I have great A/C. I know it took a while for him to figure out how to switch out the parts and get all the wires connected, but he persisted and now I have a new working A/C. It is definitely a blessing from the Lord that he found the part and was able to put it in. This has happened to us many times. He should take a side job as a mechanic since every spare moment he has had lately has been spent working on one of our cars. I am thankful he has the patience and knowledge to do these things for us so that we can spend our money on other things.....like me!

Plus, he could have pouted all day because the poor Cubbies are behind 0-2 to the Dodgers. Pray for the cubbies that they can pull it through the next 3 games......;)

Anyways, just thought I'd embarrass him by telling you all that he is the greatest!!!!!

That darn cat

Well, somehow we have adopted a cat for the past few days. The other day the FEDEX man stopped and to ask directions. I was outside helping him try to find an address. I left the door open because I was watching Brielle in the house. As we were standing out there a 'teenager' cat (that's what Raegan calls it, not a baby but not full grown) ran into our house. I tried to swat it out with the mail in my hand, but that didn't work. Then it ran right into my room and under the bed. I am allergic to cats and I didn't want to grab it for fear of it clawing my eyes out or getting whatever disease it carried so I went with the lesser of the two evils and let an unknown FEDEX man into my house to retrieve the cat. Luckily he was a very kind man and risked his eyes being clawed out and grabbed the cat and put it outside. We shut the door and thought our troubles were over. Well, they were just beginning. For the next 20 minutes the cat meowed outside the door making Raegan ask a hundred times if it could come in and live in her room and could we feed it because it is sooo hungry and a myriad of other questions. The real problem arose when it was time for us to leave and the cat was still whining at the door. When I would open the door just a crack it would try to weasel its way in. So Raegan had the great idea of putting a box on top of it so we could get out. We did just that and I was able to shuffle all the kids out of the house while a box moved around our doorway. When we were all out we took the box off and started getting in the car. I had to be careful because I was afraid the cat would try to jump into the car. It just sat in the wheel well and watched us. When I got in the car to leave I didn't want to run it over so I revved the engine and honked the horn. I started backing out slow waiting for the bump that I just ran it over. It never happened and we were out of the driveway and I couldn't see it. I thought maybe it was stuck to the tire. We stayed in the road looking for it and then I heard it meowing. I thought "did it get in the car without me seeing it?" I got out and looked under the car and it was inside the wheel well in a hole behind the wheel. I started clapping, yelling for it to get out. It finally got out and we sped off. I thought that would finally be the end. I was mistaken. When we got home it was nowhere to be seen. As I was unloading the kids, it appeared under my feet again. I learned I have passed my dislike of cats onto Logan because as soon as he saw it he started yelling "Git" and kicking it. I'll have to learn to be nicer when my kids are around. ;) Anyways, we all ran in the house and shut the door. Well, this happened a few more times that day whenever we had to leave. I went to work that night and hoped Jake wouldn't try to get rid of it his own way. It was still there when I got home. We haven't fed it or done anything to it to make it want to stay. It must be really lonely. The next day we called animal control to come and get it but they won't come unless it is captured so Jake put a box over it with holes in it and some water inside and it sat in our driveway all day. Luckily in the shade, but still all day. I called them again to see if they were coming and they said they were so I let it still stay in the box but by 6 they hadn't shown up so we let it out. I was afraid it was going to die in there. It followed Raegan on a walk and she love having it chase her. Last night it decided to pay us back for being so nice and pooped all over our driveway and scratched and meowed at the door in the wee hours of the morning. Thank you kitty!! Needless to say it is still here and we are just waiting for it to get bored or for someone to come take it. Free cat to anyone that wants one! It is actually pretty cute. I am a tiny bit sad we can't keep it. But I am sure I will get over it.

Trying to get into the house and help Raegan with her homework! Scared Raegan to death the first time it climbed onto the window. It finally fell off when it ran out of screen to climb.
