Logan's haircut

I cut Logan's hair the other day. Just for fun he has a mowhawk. It looks a lot better in person.

Also, for those of you that have been to our house, you'll notice the nice new floor Jake put in our kitchen while we were in Utah. I love it. It looks so much better. Thanks Dad!

Raegans first's

First day of school

First Haircut

Raegan has had a lot of firsts this week. (Is it supposed to be first's? I am terrible with ' )

She went to VPK which is preschool sponsored by the state. She was really excited. She goes from 2pm to 5pm every day. It is really good for her to get out an socialize. We have a small network of church friends, so she is excited to make more friends.

Last night (while I was working, Jake in charge ;) ) she got the scissors (safety scissors) out and cut her bangs. ;( Luckily, she didn't do the dreaded stubby bangs, but kept it in style and kept them long. She actually did a good job, but who is going to tell her that....not me. So we took her to the hairdresser to get her first real haircut. She was a little nervous at first but really liked it. I dread the day Logan finds the scissors. None of us will have hair by the time he is done.
And sadly, her first pet died. The fish who had no name was belly up. (Secretly I am happy). Not sure what happened. We'll place the blame on the neighbors who kept it while we were in Utah. She wasn't too upset. I think she has already forgotten.

More on Fay

Well, as the week went on, Fay became worse. We found many more wet spots and so now our room is torn apart, carpet is up, padding is gone and we are replace padding. We have the base boards off hoping to dry the drywall if it is wet. We can't really tell. We are still not sure where the water came in (either through the crack in the floor or through the walls) so we are hoping that by fixing the crack and putting porous pipes outside our house, this won't happen again. It hasn't been fun. It is amazing how much you take for granted when your house is chaotic . Since our room had to be evacuated, we have been sleeping in Brielle's room with the mattress on the floor, our hallway is now lined with bookshelves, dressers, just other crap that we have in our room. Our tiny house just became a lot smaller. Oh well, we are thankful it ended up being this room and not too much damage. (If only our insurance company would call us back. I guess that is what I get for not keeping State Farm, right Dad).

Keep praying for us that Gustav and Hanna miss us.
The one positive is that our lawn is as green as I have ever seen it. I did get to mow it today. It was like mowing through a swamp. Many really wet spots. Some places are still small ponds that didn't get mowed, but we had to try and get it done since it was starting to come up to our knees.

Stupid Fay

Well, when we came home late last night we found tons of standing water on our lawn, but expected that because we've been monitoring the news. We went to bed feeling OK because our house is elevated enough to not have any water inside.

However, when we awoke this morning we realized two of our flowering bushes were down because the ground is SO saturated and soft that they just fell over due to their weight. We did a "poor-mans" propping job to try and keep them upright, but we'll see if it takes. An even less fortunate discovery was the random wet spot we found on the carpet in our bedroom. We were perplexed by it, but figure it must have come up through a crack in our cement slab foundation. It's wet and smells like mildew. Lucky us! We used our carpet cleaner on it and have had fans blowing all day to dry it, but are still trying to figure out what to do. The only problem is that it is STILL RAINING!!!! We pray our carpet dries, won't stink, and that no more rain comes in. Please pray for our little house ;)

Tractor rides with grandpa

We went and rode the tractor with grandpa. Logan had the best time. He could have stayed for hours. Now everytime we see a tractor he says,

"Ride tractor with grandpa" in a sad little voice. This was my summer job all through high school. Seeing the tractors again didn't really make me miss all the sitting I did ;) I chopped the hay for the cows (you can't see the hay chopper in the back). It was a good summer job though. I got to be around my grandparents and uncles so that made it worth it.

BFF

These are some of my BFF's from high school. Krista, the one on the left, is getting married next month so we had a little shower for her. It was great to see them all since I haven't seen some of them since my wedding. Congrats Krista! Love you guys!

We LOVE our Dad!!!

We love and miss you Dad! Can't wait to see you in a few days!

Rexburg Temple

Since we were so close to Rexburg we drove through to reminisce about the good old days at Ricks College (Now BYU_Idaho). It is amazing how much the town has grown in the past 10 years. This is one of the noticeable changes, the temple, which is beautiful! Lots more marriages now ;)

Rides at Bear World

BYU??

Good thing Dad isn't here to defend his kids from that yucky hat!

Bear World

Our family went to Bear World. It is in Rexburg and you drive around a park and see bears and other animals. It was fun. There were a lot of bears to see. We had to keep driving so the bears didn't come up to us and scratch our car. Then they have a petting zoo and little carnival rides. The kids loved it. It was great to spend time with the family although the ride home was a little bit much. Sitting next to bored Logan for 2 hours is not my idea of fun. (He slept the whole way up). I ran out of things to entertain him. Good thing Raegan was next to Grandma and was driving her crazy. I couldn't handle both.

Brielle talking

She is starting to talk through her nose. It is really cute. She likes to talk to toys and the ceiling fan.

Raegan's tooth

Raegan finally lost her first tooth this morning. It has been very loose and driving her nuts the last few days. She is really excited for the tooth fairy to come and visit.

For Dad

For Dad in Florida who misses Brielle

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Crazy Hair

Utah

Well, we are finally in Utah and have been having lots of fun. When we got here we went straight to Bear Lake to spend the weekend at a family reunion. It was a lot of fun. The kids enjoyed making smore's and riding the wave runners. It is about as fun as the beach without the waves and sharks (although some claim to have seen the Bear Lake monster). We just had a great time relaxing and spending time with family even though we were really sad Jake couldn't be with us. He will be joining us in a few weeks when Ben and Debs get married.
