Stupid Fay

Well, when we came home late last night we found tons of standing water on our lawn, but expected that because we've been monitoring the news. We went to bed feeling OK because our house is elevated enough to not have any water inside.

However, when we awoke this morning we realized two of our flowering bushes were down because the ground is SO saturated and soft that they just fell over due to their weight. We did a "poor-mans" propping job to try and keep them upright, but we'll see if it takes. An even less fortunate discovery was the random wet spot we found on the carpet in our bedroom. We were perplexed by it, but figure it must have come up through a crack in our cement slab foundation. It's wet and smells like mildew. Lucky us! We used our carpet cleaner on it and have had fans blowing all day to dry it, but are still trying to figure out what to do. The only problem is that it is STILL RAINING!!!! We pray our carpet dries, won't stink, and that no more rain comes in. Please pray for our little house ;)

Bummer! Fay is making a little visit up here too. I think Pensacola is getting largely spared though. Tallahassee got 15+ inches the other day though. Hope it all dries out. Natural disasters can be sooo tiring!!

that totally bites. I guess you'll just have to come back to utah forever. I'm sad we didn't get to see more of you. Sorry we never got in touch with you again. Things got so crazy and before we knew it you had left. We were bummed. Hopefully we will see you soon!
