More on Fay

Well, as the week went on, Fay became worse. We found many more wet spots and so now our room is torn apart, carpet is up, padding is gone and we are replace padding. We have the base boards off hoping to dry the drywall if it is wet. We can't really tell. We are still not sure where the water came in (either through the crack in the floor or through the walls) so we are hoping that by fixing the crack and putting porous pipes outside our house, this won't happen again. It hasn't been fun. It is amazing how much you take for granted when your house is chaotic . Since our room had to be evacuated, we have been sleeping in Brielle's room with the mattress on the floor, our hallway is now lined with bookshelves, dressers, just other crap that we have in our room. Our tiny house just became a lot smaller. Oh well, we are thankful it ended up being this room and not too much damage. (If only our insurance company would call us back. I guess that is what I get for not keeping State Farm, right Dad).

Keep praying for us that Gustav and Hanna miss us.
The one positive is that our lawn is as green as I have ever seen it. I did get to mow it today. It was like mowing through a swamp. Many really wet spots. Some places are still small ponds that didn't get mowed, but we had to try and get it done since it was starting to come up to our knees.

Like the new format of your blog. Sorry to hear about all of the wetness. Just oes to show that P'Cola is not the ionly locale that gets slammed tho. Keep your chins up and your feet dry!
